Project Title:  Operation and Maintenance for Walla Walla Basin Passage Projects

Scope - Gardena Farms Irrigation District No. 13 (Gardena Farms) will perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance tasks at the Garden City/Lowden 2 Diversion Consolidation and Fish Passage Project, and the Gardena Farms (Burlingame) Fish Screens and Ladder, designed to keep the facilities operational and performing within specifications for fish passage, screening, and trapping operations.  Gardena Farms will provide labor, equipment, supplies, and material necessary for the care and maintenance of these fish facilities.  The O&M Manuals provided by Montgomery-Watson-Harza (GC/L2 and Gardena Farms (Burlingame) ladder) and FishPro (Gardena Farms (Burlingame) screens) will provide guidance for scheduling and scoping of specific maintenance tasks.

Coordination - Gardena Farms O&M personnel will coordinate closely with CTUIR/ODFW Walla Walla Fish Passage Operations (FPO) and Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife fish passage personnel in performing tasks under this contract.  FPO staff will visit the two sites regularly to examine O&M of the facilities to ensure proper function and determine recommendations for any changes to ongoing activities.  Gardena Farms will rely on FPO and WDFW biologists to determine O&M needs for fish passage and screening and Gardena Farms O&M personnel will perform in accordance with their direction on matters related to fish passage and screening.  Gardena Farms will utilize an independent biologist when necessary to assist FPO and WDFW biologists or when other biologists are unavailable to respond to needs such as fish identification or other O&M activities.  Gardena Farms will participate in the Walla Walla Annual Operations Plan process with FPO personnel and other stakeholders to determine necessary changes to O&M activities on a yearly basis.
