This contract was selected out of a competitive process and received technical assistance for BPA's FY19.

Molalla River Watch (MRW) and Oregon Parks and Recreation Dept. (OPRD) are collaborating with consultants, agencies, and researchers to develop plans to increase high flow and thermal refuge for listed fish, increase habitat complexity, and preserve the floodplain forest at Molalla River SP. Recognizing the importance of existing habitat elements, all work will seek whole-site resiliency with a “do no harm” and process-based approach.
MRW and OPRD will identify restoration opportunities and create designs that: 1) address limiting factors for winter steelhead and spring Chinook; 2) benefit other key fish and wildlife species; 3) provide opportunities to improve public natural resource education.
Funding will be used to work with a qualified consulting firm to implement:
• Site Investigations: characterize terrain, hydrology, geomorphology, temperature, and floodplain inundation as they relate to habitat extent and timing for critical aquatic species.
• Alternatives Analysis: refine goals and objectives, define alternatives and evaluation criteria; evaluate alternatives for potential restoration and preservation actions.
Draft design (up to 30%)and Budgeting: advance the preferred alternative to refine project planning and budgeting.
