Contract Description:
Stock assessment of Redband Trout in Big Sheep and Onion Creeks in the upper Columbia River and an index area of the upper Spokane River. Stock assessment in upper Columbia River tributaries includes abundance and density estimates of Redband Trout from the confluence of the Columbia River to the barrier falls. Abundance estimates are conducted through mark recapture experiments. Recruitment and escapement is evaluated through spawner surveys and stationary PIT tag arrays. Biological data is collected to evaluate age and growth characteristics of the Redband Trout populations.

Redband Trout stock assessment in the upper Spokane River includes abundance estimates  and descriptive statistics to evaluate age and growth characteristics of the Redband population. Estimates will provide a baseline population abundance prior to Smallmouth Bass removal efforts. Abundance will be evaluated annually for four years throughout removal efforts to evaluate Redband Trout population response to predator removal.
