The Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs Reservation of Oregon (CTWSRO) Branch of Natural Resources (BNR) produce spring Chinook salmon and winter steelhead for release into the Hood River basin as smolt  consistent with US v. Oregon Columbia Basin Management  agreement guidelines.

The Tribes will operate a full term spring Chinook salmon rearing and steelhead spawning facility at Parkdale Fish Hatchery (PFH) located on the Middle Fork Hood River near Parkdale, Oregon and an acclimation/juvenile rearing facility on the West Fork Hood River near Dee, Oregon.  Full term spring Chinook rearing will take place at the PFH and Moving Falls Fish Facility (MFFF).

Adult Hood River winter steelhead broodstock will be collected, held and spawned at PFH.
Green eggs will be delivered to Oak Springs Hatchery for grow out. One year old  steelhead will be delivered to the East Fork Irrigation District's Sand Trap for acclimation and release into the  East Fork of the Hood River.

The hatchery manager, assistant manager, two technicians and a trainee will oversee phases of the PFH  and MFFF, including operation and maintenance. The HRPP supervisor will  facilitate coordination with CTWS BNR and administration staff, partner agencies and stakeholders as well as participate in regional forums to ensure annual production goals are met.

The annual production goal  is 50,000 winter steelhead acclimated and released into the East Fork Hood River and remains unchanged from previous years. 5,000 additional smolt will be acclimated and released into Lawrence Lake in the Middle Fork basin to evaluate fish passage survival over Clear Branch dam.  Sufficient brood stock will be collected to produce 55,000 Hood River origin smolt for release in 2018. Broodstock composition will be 100% natural origin unless otherwise adjusted based upon agreement with co-managers.

150,000 BY 16 spring Chinook salmon smolt will be released into the West Fork Hood River. 75,000 juveniles will be reared full term in-basin. 115,000 eyed eggs will be delivered to Round Butte Fish Hatchery for grow out. Sufficient adults from the 2018 brood year will be collected and spawned to produce 250,000 smolt for release in 2020.

Specific rearing procedures for the BY 16-17 production groups is detailed in the Hood River Production Program's Annual Operating Plans (AOPs).  Fish health services will be contracted to ODFW.

The HRPP will host an environmental education event at PFH with a two day Salmon day event for local 4th and 5th graders in addition to leading classroom learning activities during fall.

Funds from this contract will be used to conduct normal upkeep of all CTWS HRPP facilities, alarms, offices and residences. Additionally major maintenance will occur consisting of roof  and heating duct replacement and bathroom repairs at two hatchery residences. At PFH the asphalt driveways will be sealed and grey water lift pumps replaced. At MFFF snow removal equipment will be purchase to enable staff to maintain winter access.
