Contract Description:
Regional coordination for life cycle modeling group, with participation and co-funding by fisheries management agencies including WDFW, ODFW, IDFG, CRITFC, NPT, and NOAA.

A key goal of life-cycle models is to inform decision makers about the influence of restoration activities on the recovery and viability of ESA-listed salmon in the Columbia Basin. Federal Columbia River Power System Biological Opinion (FCRPS BiOp), the 2009 Adaptive Management Implementation Plan calls for expanded life cycle modeling to support conservation planning and implementation as well as early-warning and contingency triggers.

The goal of this group is to expand, update, and incorporate recent data into new or existing models of salmon and steelhead life cycles in the Snake and Columbia river basin. Some of the models cover habitat action, climate, predation, contaminant, and hydropower system effects.
