Contract Description:
CCR- 47664 - No cost time extension to allow for the completion of the Log Springs project. The implementation of this project was further delayed due to the inability to access the site due to an extremely wet/rainy spring/early summer. Work Elements B, G, H, I, J and K are being extended to allow for the project to be completed once the access road dries enough to allow for the delivery of construction materials.

CCR-46753 - No cost time extension to allow for the completion of the Log Springs project. The project was delayed due to wildfire risk and associated area closures. Work Elements B, G, H, I, J, and K are being extended to allow for the completion of the project in the spring/summer of 2022 once site becomes accessible following winter snows.

This contract will support ongoing aquatic habitat restoration work on the Warm Springs Reservation with in the Deschutes Basin.  During the contract period Tribal staff anticipate completing phase 1 of the Log Springs Meadow Restoration.  This project was designed under a previous contract in 2017 with fundraising and permitting occurring in 2018.  Over $1.3 million have been secured through fundraising efforts that will be matched with the BPA funds provided through this contract to complete Phase 1 including the cultural resources monitoring required at this site.

The objectives of the Log Spring Meadow Restoration Project are to:
1.  Reduce erosion derived sediment delivery in critical habitat downstream in Beaver Creek.
2.  Restore meadow function and promote the reestablishment of culturally significant plants.

The riparian protection fence network along with water developments will continue to be maintained protecting over 50 miles of critical anadromous fish habitat in the Warm Springs River Watershed.  Maintenance and improvements will be focused on the lower Warm Springs River and lower Deschutes River protection fence segments.

Project planning and prioritization will continue to occur using the scoring matrix developed to accompany the 2018 Aquatic Restoration Strategy for the Reservation lands.  This scoring matrix will be used to show the relative rank or score of current and future projects proposed on the Reservation using BPA funds.  These scoring outputs and project descriptions will be updated through the reporting work elements linked to this contract.
