Description: A conservation easement is required in all land acquisitions, either granted from the project sponsor to BPA if the sponsor is acquiring fee title, or granted from the landowner to the project sponsor if the sponsor is acquiring just the conservation easement in which BPA retains a third party right of enforcement. For fee title acquisitions, BPA will send the sponsor a draft template easement. For conservation easements granted from the landowner, the sponsor should work with BPA to draft the easement prior to ordering an appraisal. | |||||||

Examples of this include, but are not limited to, renters, farming leases, and grazing leases.
