Title:
R: 157 - RESTORATION - Stream Temperature Monitoring
Description:
Deploy loggers at various sites throughout properties. Download data in fall and late spring before redeployment. Maintain and replace when necessary. Annual monitoring operations activity. Data is used to track status and trends within the system.
WE Agreement Type:
Contracted
Deliverable Specification:
Summarized fish and physical habitat data will be uploaded to CBFish in report form to facilitate habitat restoration action prioritization and planning among project partners and interested parties. These data will be summarized in the project's annual report. All raw data is uploaded to the WISKI database. These data will ensure that projects are planned in areas where the focal fish and wildlife species and life stages are present, and the projects will address limiting habitat factors, such as temperature, flow, or sediment, to benefit a particular species and life stage (e.g. steelhead spawning or Chinook summer rearing).

Stream temperature data collected under this WE will inform restoration actions necessary to benefit steelhead and Chinook spawning and rearing.

6 Milestones
Sort Type Title Start End Status Modified By Modified Date
A EC Environmental compliance requirements complete 4/1/2021 3/31/2022 Concluded Timothy Ludington (Inactive) 12/15/2020 12:51:32 PM
Description: On-the-ground work associated with this work element cannot proceed until this milestone is complete. Milestone is complete when final documentation is received from BPA environmental compliance staff.
B PUBPROTOCOL Review, revise, and finalize Protocol and Methods in MonitoringResources.org 4/1/2021 3/31/2022 Concluded Timothy Ludington (Inactive) 12/15/2020 12:51:32 PM
Description: The Protocol (including temporal and spatial design) and Methods for this work element are stored at MonitoringResources.org and need to be finalized there, preferably prior to data collection. Preparations for contract renewals must include reviewing any previously finalized Protocols/Methods to ensure that they are consistent with how work will be done in any subsequent contract.
C Upload Yearly upload of error-checked datasets 4/1/2021 3/31/2022 Concluded Timothy Ludington (Inactive) 3/18/2021 10:54:38 AM
Description: Upload datasets with associated metadata to a publicly accessible site each year as soon as they have been QA/QC checked. This generally happens within 6 months for direct field-to-database input, but may be longer if laboratory analysis is required (e.g., scale reading or genetic analyses). If data is not QA/QCed within 1 year, data must be made accessible with acknowledgement of QA/QC limitations. Periods for dataset collection should be no longer than a year, and coincide with the logical biology of the data collection, which may not be on a calendar year. Upload summarized stream temperature data to CBFish to further inform habitat restoration, prioritization, and planning. Dataset upload requirements apply to both original and derived data, which should be at a level of quality suitable for release to resource co-managers to make decisions – not the rigor required as if you were going to use the data for a peer-reviewed publication.
D Maintain Data Loggers 4/1/2021 3/31/2022 Concluded Timothy Ludington (Inactive) 12/15/2020 12:52:02 PM
Description: Data loggers visited that are physically damaged, not functioning, or are not collecting data properly (i.e. errors in dataset), will be replaced with data loggers that are QA/QC'ed on an annual basis. If equipment/materials holding loggers in place is found to be compromised or deteriorating (i.e. rusting cables or solar shields), the equipment will be replaced.
E Collect Data from Data Loggers 4/1/2021 11/1/2021 Concluded Timothy Ludington (Inactive) 12/15/2020 12:52:02 PM
Description: Air and water temperature loggers are deployed year-round, and are visited in the late spring and late fall of each year. Data are offloaded the loggers during these bi-annual visits and loggers are redeployed.
F DELIV Stream Temperature Data Reporting 3/31/2022 Concluded Timothy Ludington (Inactive) 3/18/2021 10:51:26 AM
