Title:
E: 114 - Identify and Select Projects in the Lower Clearwater/Potlatch
Description:
CFP staff will identify and assess potential projects in the Lower Clearwater and Potlatch Basins. Working with landowners, the Clearwater Technical Team and the Potlatch Implementation Group, the CFP will evaluate and prioritize the projects that will gain the most benefit for anadromous fish. The Technical Team uses fish data such as electrofishing and snorkel surveys displayed on maps, to ensure that projects are prioritized objectively to benefit Snake River Basin Steelhead. CFP staff will present potential projects to the Technical Team and the Potlatch Implementation Group for review.

In addition, the selection process includes a wide range of planning activities for fish restoration projects. Work includes negotiating with landowners, collecting stream temperature and flow data, capturing photo points, creating maps, site visits, meeting with partners and project sponsors, applying for other sources of funding such as EQIP, PCSRF, and 319, coordinating project implementation details such as fish salvages, etc.
