Title:
H: 175 - Lost-Loony Creek (BDA design)
Description:
CCT biologists and technicians will initiate design and site-planning for 3-6 Beaver Dam Analog (BDA) and/or Post Assisted Log Structures (PALS) to increase stream channel complexity and aid in floodplain re-connection. The intent is to facilitate channel-aggradation, water retention and water table elevation to support existing native vegetation planted within the cattle exclusion fence unit on Lost Creek.
WE Agreement Type:
Contracted
Deliverable Specification:
Prepare a technical drawing, basic design, or site plan for installing constructed BDA and/or PALS stream channel project in Lost-Loony Creek.

The purpose is to provide and refine a rudimentary design or site plan to a level adequate to coordinate permitting, inform environmental compliance, obtain environmental clearances and permits, and organize material staging and construction access for implementation of the project as early as the late Summer/early Fall of 2020.

A EC Environmental compliance requirements complete 2/1/2020 1/29/2021 Concluded Jamie Cleveland (Inactive) 10/9/2019 11:22:31 AM
Description: On-the-ground work associated with this work element cannot proceed until this milestone is complete. Milestone is complete when final documentation is received from BPA environmental compliance staff.
B Suggested Provide projected construction start date to BPA COR and EC 2/1/2020 7/15/2020 Concluded Jamie Cleveland (Inactive) 11/18/2019 9:55:09 AM
Description: Provide month and year of projected construction start date to assist in project planning, environmental compliance, planning and design review timelines. Expected construction start date, pending permit approvals and clearances: Aug-Oct 2020.
C Design3 Develop and submit project concepts (typically 15% design) for review 2/1/2020 6/15/2020 Concluded Jamie Cleveland (Inactive) 1/6/2020 9:10:41 AM
Description: Develop conceptual strategy, restoration approach, and/or preliminary design. Submit conceptual design and expected construction start date to the COR and EC Lead for review. When submitting conceptual designs please include a statement of the site getting treatment, what the project goals address, the limiting factors and what is the habitat benefit. Reviews shall include COR, EC, and ETS. EC Lead to determine other reviews as needed. Allow one month for review. At 15%, coordinate with BPA to schedule a site visit to review project concepts, goals, and objectives if deemed necessary. Additional data that may be presented and reviewed (e.g., high resolution aerial photography, topographic maps, soil maps, or GIS/CAD data layers).
D Design8 Cultural resource clearance obtained 2/1/2020 7/15/2020 Concluded Jamie Cleveland (Inactive) 11/18/2019 9:55:09 AM
Description: If planning or design work requires ground disturbance including but not limited to geotechnical surveys, ground water monitoring, or well exploration, obtain appropriate cultural resources consultation prior to any ground disturbance. Notify EC Lead well in advance of ground disturbing work. On-the-ground work associated with this work element may not proceed until this milestone is complete. Milestone is complete when BPA environmental compliance staff provides final documentation.
E Design4 Develop and submit preferred alternative (typically 30%) for review 3/1/2020 7/31/2020 Concluded Jamie Cleveland (Inactive) 1/2/2020 11:39:10 AM
Description: Develop preferred alternative design and cost estimate. For 30% designs, planned view image, typically drawing on how they will be constructed, (specs) how far in the bed will poles go, what material will you be using to construct BDA. Submit plans, draft Basis of Design Report (BDR), and other supporting documentation (profiles, details, cross sections, quantities, technical analyses/appendixes, etc.) to the COR and EC Lead. Schedule time for review (typically one month for BPA review). The 30% design should incorporate technical comments and recommendations from previous review and shall address design requirements provided by BPA in the BDR template.
F Design11 Upload final design set and obtain BPA engineer approval of design. 6/1/2020 8/21/2020 Concluded Jamie Cleveland (Inactive) 12/12/2019 4:34:16 PM
Description: Upload final approved design plan set and basis of design to the contract documents and notify COR and EC Lead when complete.
