Title:
J: 157 - Effectiveness Monitoring
Description:
The goal is to monitor the form, function, and effectiveness of stream restoration techniques enabling informed project maintenance and implementation decisions. Projects are surveyed pre and post construction to assess trends in the dimension, pattern, and profile of rehabilitated stream reaches. Post construction monitoring is conducted annually for the first three years and every fifth year or after major flow events beyond the third year. Nine permanent monitoring sites are used to assess annual trends in stream temperature. Representative photo-points are collected annually the first three years and every fifth year beyond the third year. Photo-points are used to monitor the response of riparian plant communities to livestock exclusion.
