Description:
This element includes all data collection of water quality and quantity; including temperature, discharge, turbidity, Dissolved oxygen, pH, conductivity.
WE Agreement Type:
Contracted
Deliverable Specification:
1) Hourly stage readings to 0.01 m at Indian Creek, Nehchen Creek, and Sheep Cr, and one mainstem Hangman location. There will be four sites on the mainstem of Hangman Creek, and at fish-bearing streams Sheep, Mission, Nehchen, Martin and Indian (2 sites), S.F. Hangman, and Smith, a no fish-bearing stream. There will also be sampling at an additional 15 sites in June and August in the forested areas of the same streams. Parameters sampled will include discharge, Dissolved Oxygen, Temp, and conductivity.Turbidity will be analyzed in-house.

Sort Type Title Start End Status Modified By Modified Date
A EC Environmental compliance requirements complete 5/1/2014 11/6/2014 Concluded Bruce Kinkead 12/5/2013 4:28:59 PM
Description: On-the-ground work associated with this work element cannot proceed until this milestone is complete. Milestone is complete when final documentation is received from BPA environmental compliance staff (completion can be based on pre-existing environmental documentation from BPA).
B PUBPROTOCOL Review, revise, and Publish protocol, study design, and methods in monitoringmethods.org 5/1/2014 4/30/2015 Concluded Bruce Kinkead 12/5/2013 4:28:59 PM
Description: The Protocol (including temporal and spatial design) and Methods for this work element are stored at monitoringmethods.org and need to be finalized (i.e., "Published" through monitoringmethods.org), preferably prior to data collection. Preparations for contract renewals must include reviewing any previously published Protocols/Methods to ensure that they are consistent with how work will be done in any subsequent contract.
C Deploy continous stage markers at 2 tributary sites 5/1/2014 4/30/2015 Concluded Bruce Kinkead 12/5/2013 4:28:59 PM
Description: Stage readers will be deployed Febuary 1st to October 31st each year at 4 sites within Hangman Creek and tributaries; Nehchen Creek, Indian Creek, Sheep Cr, and Hangman within Buckless prop.
D Measure discharge and stage 5/1/2014 4/30/2015 Concluded Bruce Kinkead 12/5/2013 4:28:59 PM
Description: Discharge will be taken monthly at 12 primary sites, and periodically at 14 secondary sites depending on flow, ice conditions, and accessibility: Lower Indian, Indian Pow Wow, Lower Nehchen, Martin, Lower SF Hangman, Hangman at forest site, Hangman just above SF confluence, Lower Mission, Lower Sheep, Hangman @ stateline, Hangman @ Buckless prop., and Smith Creek.
E Measure D.O. pH, conductivity and temp. 5/1/2014 4/30/2015 Concluded Bruce Kinkead 12/5/2013 4:28:59 PM
Description: A multiparameter probe will be used to collect D.O. pH, conductivity, and temp at the same 12 primary sites and addtional 14 secondary sites and frequency that discharge is taken.
F Measure D.O. in Sheep Creek to obtain a vertical oxygen profile within pools created by beaver 5/1/2014 4/30/2015 Concluded Bruce Kinkead 12/5/2013 4:28:59 PM
Description: Using a multiparameter probe, measure dissolved oxygen and temperature within deep pools created by beaver dams to assess stratification and suitability for salmonids.
