Title:
D: 190 - Graham Creek Brook Trout Removals
Description:
In an effort to conserve the remaining WCT in Graham Creek, in 2008, the KNRD installed a barrier structure just up from the mouth to eliminate future upstream migration of BKT. A pre and post installation electrofishing effort was completed to remove all observed BKT between the fish passage barrier and a natural cascade/waterfall barrier 700 m upstream. In 2012, we conducted a single pass electrofishing survey to determine if any BKT remained in the treatment area; we collected 136 WCT (not including YOY fish) and 15 BKT. In 2013 we collected 182 WCT and only 1 BKT. With the continued presence of BKT in Graham Creek, it is necessary to conduct a removal treatment consisting of two passes using electrofishing gear in 2014. We will remove all BKT observed and replace any WCT captured back into Graham Creek.
WE Agreement Type:
Contracted
Deliverable Specification:
One brook trout removal treatment will be completed in all the fish bearing stream channel above the constructed barrier in Graham Creek (approximately 700m). A treatment is comprised of two complete passes using electrofishing gear. We will remove all BKT observed and replace any WCT captured back into Graham Creek.

B Complete one electrofishing treatment in Graham Creek 9/1/2014 10/31/2014 Concluded Jason Olson 2/5/2014 10:21:44 AM
Description: One brook trout removal treatment will be completed in all the fish bearing stream channel above the constructed fish passage barrier near the mouth of Graham Creek (approximately 700m). A removal treatment is comprised of two complete passes using electrofishing gear. Brook trout will be removed and WCT will be returned to the creek downstream of the capture location. The treatment will be completed after brook trout spawning (generally mid September) so that any redds observed can be destroyed.
