Description: Prior to transfer of 100,000 juveniles at Pendleton in late March, the facility will be prepared for acclimating and releasing fish. This includes: cleaning the ponds, securing the predator netting, outlet screens and jump screens installed and secured, opening the inlet valves to the ponds, starting the primary pumps and begin filling the ponds with water, crowders, dip nets, buckets, etc. will be set up and ready to use, testing the backup pumps, emergency generator, and alarm systems for automatic operation. The fish will be transported by ODFW and unloaded into the ponds. They will be acclimated for approximately 3-4 weeks at Pendleton and then forced out. The release size goal is 4.5 fish per pound. The fish will be fed twice daily during acclimation. Flows, temperatures, and dissolved oxygen measurements will be taken and recorded daily during acclimation. Mortalities will be removed and counted daily during acclimation and ODFW fish health personnel will be available to address specific disease concerns. | |||||||
