Title:
E: 162 - Examine habitat features associated with chum redds
Description:
Examine habitat features associated with redds in Hardy Creek and Hamilton Springs, and investigate relations among juvenile emergence and habitat features.
WE Agreement Type:
Contracted
Deliverable Specification:
Data on habitat features and chum salmon emergence in Hardy Creek and Hamilton Springs will be compiled in electronic files. The redd habitat data to be analyzed includes water depth, substrate composition, proximity to springs or seeps and subsurface-water conditions. Data will be analyzed to investigate relations potentially affecting site selection of redds (e.g., by comparing characteristics associated with redds to areas lacking redds). Juvenile emergence data for individual redds, and habitat data for these redds will be analyzed to examine any relationship between redd habitat and emergence. These analyses and relationships will be presented in the annual report.
