Title:
B: 162 - Data Analysis
Description:
Analysis of data collected to date. Each year we will update our estimate of the relative fitness of wild vs. hatchery as each new run year of offspring is genotyped. Results of analyses of data collected for the year will be included in final report.
WE Agreement Type:
Contracted
Deliverable Specification:
This year's analyses will be to: (1) Compare fitness of winter run Hnew vs. wild in run year 1999. This year will be particularly interesting because it will provide the second comparison of wild versus the two types of supplementation fish – those with two wild parents as broodstock (Hnew-wxw), and those having a wild parent and a hatchery parent as broodstock (Hnew-hxw). Thus, with the addition of this run year we will have comparisons between wild and Hnew-wxw in each of five years (from 1995 to 1999) and of Hnew-wxw vs. Hnew-hxw in each of two years. (2) We will analyze the relative fitness of summer Hold vs. wild in run year 1993. With the addition of this run year we will have analyzed five of the six run years in which we can compare Hold vs. wild in the summer run (1992 is the remaining year, and we will be working through that backlog of samples during the upcoming year. (3) We will continue our methodological work on the estimation of effective size in supplemented populations. Analyses will be ongoing during the year, but the main questions are to be answered at the end of the contract period.
