Description:
Fish culture activities associated with maintaining captive reared Chinook salmon from the West Fork Yankee Fork and the East Fork Salmon River at Eagle FH. Fish culture activities include: eyed-egg incubation, juvenile rearing, fish health sampling, vaccinations and marking, transferring smolts and adults between facilities, and genetic sampling. Brood Year 2005 juveniles will be reared through the smolt stage before transfer to Manchester Marine Lab operated by NOAA Fisheries. Maturing Chinook salmon adults, representing brood years 2003, 2004 and 2005, will be transported from Manchester Marine Lab and released to natal streams. Before implementation National Environmental Policy Act compliance will be obtained.

Maturing captive reared Chinook salmon will be returned to Idaho (Eagle FH) and acclimated on freshwater for approximately two months before they are released to natal streams (EFSR or WFYF).
