A | 185 | Produce CBFish Status Report | Periodic Status Reports for BPA | The Contractor shall report on the status of milestones and deliverables in Pisces. Reports shall be completed either monthly or quarterly as determined by the BPA COTR. Additionally, when indicating a deliverable milestone as COMPLETE, the contractor shall provide metrics and the final location (latitude and longitude) prior to submitting the report to the BPA COTR.
B | 165 | Produce Environmental Compliance Documentation | Pre-work for FY10 contract | Assemble, gather, acquire, or prepare documents in support of obtaining environmental compliance from BPA (such as filling out a NEPA Checklist, providing maps, obtaining permits, conducting public involvement activities, completing an archaeological survey, etc.). Ensure a compliance letter has been received, or is still valid, prior to commencing any affected work.
C | 119 | Manage and Administer Projects | Overall Project Management | Manage on-the-ground efforts. Also covers administrative work in support of on-the-ground efforts and in support of BPA's programmatic requirements such as metric reporting, financial reporting (e.g., accruals), and development of an SOW package (includes draft SOW, budget, spending plan, and property inventory).
D | 157 | Collect/Generate/Validate Field and Lab Data | Snorkel surveys | Collect fish population data at 25 status and trend sites in the Wenatchee subbasin using day snorkeling in the summer following the snorkeling protocol, A Field Manual of Scientific Protocols for Underwater Observations within the Upper Columbia Monitoring Strategy” (Murdoch and Nelle 2008). Survey Protocol and Data Gathered: Fish will be surveyed by direct observation using single-pass snorkeling as described by Thurow (1994). Up to 10 snorkelers and 1 shore tender (when necessary) will conduct the surveys. Survey crews will enter the downstream end of the designated sampling site and snorkel as unit in an upstream direction to the end of that site. All USFS staff involved with this survey work will be trained in snorkeling methods and have prior snorkeling experience. Snorkeling will be done in dry suits. Data will be recorded by each diver on a PVC cuff secured to their arm and transferred to a datasheet at the end of the data collection event. Snorkelers will be positioned across the stream channel so as to cover the entire channel. The distance between snorkelers must be sufficient to clearly survey the areas between each snorkeler and/or between snorkeler and the stream bank. Water temperature and turbidity will be taken at the start of each survey. All fish observed will be counted by species and assigned to a size class. In status and trend sites the number of fish will be tallied by site.
