Measure ID: Measure Type ID is the numeric system identifier for the Measure.
Measure: The name of Measure .
Measure Group: Measure Group is the broad category of the Measure, such as Coordination, Habitat, Hatchery, or Reporting.
APR Measure: Some Measures are used as BiOP Annual Progress Report (APR) Measures. An APR Measure is made of exactly one Measure that is geospatially filtered. APR Measure only includes Metrics from Work Sites that are within targeted fish population boundaries.
Measure Description: Measure Description is a brief narrative description about the intent of the Measure
HLI: Each HLI is made up of one or more Measures that are added up together. A Measure can be optionally part of one High Level Indicator (HLI).
Aggregate?: If true, this Measure overlaps with other measures, such as including numbers from Metrics that are already in other Measures. If false, Measure does not overlap with other Measures.
Complex Calculation?: A Measure that is a Complex Calculation is a Measure that has a value goes beyond simple sum of the component metrics. For example, calculation may be based on counts of Work Elements, averages, or mathematical formulas involving involving multiplication, division, subtraction, etc.
Metric Components: Metric Components indicates which Metrics are part of this Measure. Also includes any extra details about how the calculation is performed or if there are any special exclusions or formulas.
Dimensions: Dimensions are additional information about the Metric going into the Measure that can give more detail about the kind of work being tracked.

Work Elements, Metrics, Measures and Limiting Factors

At the heart of how BPA funds, monitors and reports on work performed under its Fish & Wildlife Program are work elements, metrics, and measures. In habitat work on the river tributaries, this work addresses each location's limiting factors. This area of CBFish allows you to explore these items in detail and understand their relation to one another.

A Measure is a higher level grouping of one or more metrics. While Metrics are good for capturing the lowest possible level of detail, for reporting a broader combination of similar Metrics, a Measure is usually sufficient. Many reports and interactive data displays used in CBFish rely on Measures.

This view shows how work elements and implementation metrics are combined and mapped to measures and High Level Indicators (HLI). Program contractors in the field record the types of work they do and their results using work elements and metrics. For higher level reporting and other special analysis, metrics are grouped together in CBFish into a single measure. It is these measures, especially groups of measures, that are used in Interactive Data & Reports and HLI's.
