Title:
C: 162 - Analyze and integrate performance measures
Description:
The BiOp, Remand, and RM&E working groups have identified a myriad of performance measures to be evaluated during check-ins and recovery assessments. This task will continue in the development and update of an integrated performance database to allow fish managers, independent investigators, the BPA, and the public to evaluate for themselves the status and trends of performance measures leading to recovery decisions. This will include updating ROSTER analyses as needed. New databases will be added as directed by BPA needs. The interactive software on the internet will allow users to review information sorted by stock, location, province, subbasin, performance measures, or any combination thereof. The site also assists users in summarizing the information based on their own unique priorities for recovery. Websites will be developed to report adult fallback and migration delay at dams.

A focus in 2023 will be to continue assisting the BPA and their agencies with the proper approach to the analysis of monitoring data. Assistance to the BPA may consist of technical reviews and one-of-a-kind data analysis to assist in decision and management, assistance in the design and interpretation of the spring spill experiment and Ice Harbor turbine survival study, and in responding to proposed changes in the PIT plan. We will continue our efforts to assist agencies with proper approaches to analyzing juvenile outmigration in the tributaries, fallback, and adult escapement.
WE Agreement Type:
Contracted
Deliverable Specification:
An error-checked data set and metadata will be stored consistent with the database(s) and protocol documented in contract. (Optional: This includes the following methods: (List methods).) Data will be publicly accessible, with stipulations for limitations of use and data generator attribution. Additional implementation notes and analysis will be in the Annual Report, or attached to the protocol as implementation notes.

The data file/s will be stored in the data repository/ies specified in the contract. In your annual report (WE 132), you are required to provide a link to your data set with a file name in the report's first appendix. If not web accessible, provide instructions (e.g., file name, directory, or position title) for accessing data.

A PUBPROTOCOL Review, revise, & finalize Study Plan sample design protocol and methds in monitoringResources.org 1/1/2023 12/31/2023 Concluded Christine Petersen 6/10/2024 2:06:39 PM
Description: The Study Plan's Sample Design, Protocol and Methods for this work element are stored at MonitoringResources.org and need to be completed (i.e., "Finalized" through MonitoringResources.org), preferably prior to data analysis but must be completed upon submittal of your annual report. Preparations for contract renewals must include reviewing any previously finalized Sample Designs, Protocols & Methods to ensure that they are consistent with how work will be done in any subsequent contract.
B Maintain software and database 1/1/2023 12/31/2023 Concluded Christine Petersen 6/10/2024 2:06:39 PM
Description: The performance measures database must be updated annually to incorporate the previous year's results. This effort involves updating smolt travel times, survivals, harvest, escapement, ocean survival, transport effects, flow, spill targets, total dissolved gas targets, smolt-to-adult ratios, etc. Other maintenance issues include upkeep of the website and server. Linkage of status and trends to BPA annual reporting needs will be developed.
C Develop analysis tools 1/1/2023 12/31/2023 Concluded Christine Petersen 6/10/2024 2:06:39 PM
Description: Analysis tools will be further developed to permit users to tailor status and trends analyses. Standardized data formats to facilitate community-based data transfer and Q/A will be developed. Tools for the dynamic management of the data resources and their presentation will be developed to reduce labor costs and decrease acquisition time.
