Title:
J: 158 - PIT tagging juvenile salminds in off-channel habitat under the Entiat IMW
Description:
The USFWS will be tagging juvenile anadromous salmonids using Passive Integrated Transponder (PIT) tags at up to 6 off-channel habitats in the Entiat River mainstem as part of ISEMP's Entiat IMW experimental design.
WE Agreement Type:
Contracted
Deliverable Specification:
Spring Chinook and steelhead captured will be checked for the presence of a passive integrated transponder (PIT) tag, if not tagged they will be anesthetized, and have length and weight measurements recorded and life stage identified prior to being revived and released at the point of capture. Any spring Chinook and steelhead not previously PIT tagged will be tagged with either a 12 mm or 8.5 mm tag dependent upon their size (fork-length). Scale samples will be collected from a subset of steelhead collected.

All fish sampling data will be entered either into a data logger, if development is finalized by the start of the field season, or into a site and time specific P3 program file and stored on a laptop computer. USFWS will conduct quality assurance and quality control activities and upload PIT tag codes and accompanying biological information (e.g., length, weight, and life history stage) for sampled fish into regional databases (i.e., PTAGIS)
