C157Collect/Generate/Validate Field and Lab DataCollect Calibrated Hydroacoustic Data and Seabird DataWe will use fisheries echosounders to map distributions of pelagic fishes and macrozooplankton in the Columbia River Plume and adjacent coastal areas of Oregon and Washington. Counts of seabird densities will be collected simultaneously during the same surveys. We will collect calibrated hydroacoustic data during May and June cruises, which coincide with peak outmigration of juvenile salmon from the Columbia River. We shall participate on the same cruise vessel as NOAA Fisheries Project 46273 REL 27. Acoustic data will be used to map the horizontal and vertical distribution of pelagic fish and macrozooplankton in the water column and to compare spatial and temporal relative abundances and length-frequency distributions between the two surveys.Chinook (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) - All Populations, Chum (Oncorhynchus keta) - Columbia River ESU (Threatened), Coho (O. kisutch) - Unspecified Population, Coho (Oncorhynchus kisutch) - Lower Columbia River ESU (Threatened), Sockeye (Oncorhynchus nerka) - All Populations, Steelhead (Oncorhynchus mykiss) - All PopulationsCutthroat Trout, Coastal (Oncorhynchus clarkii clarkii) - All Anadromous Populations
D162Analyze/Interpret DataProcess and Analyze Hydroacoustic Data and Seabird DataData processing and analysis will take place in the office after each cruise is completed. Data collected at sea will be error-checked, archived as digital files in an electronic database, and processed to provide relative indices of the distribution and abundance of non-salmonid prey (acoustics) and avian predators (seabirds). Processed data will then be compared among transects and cruises to examine the overlap between juvenile salmon, avian predators, and non-salmonid prey.Chinook (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) - All Populations, Chum (Oncorhynchus keta) - Columbia River ESU (Threatened), Coho (O. kisutch) - Unspecified Population, Coho (Oncorhynchus kisutch) - Lower Columbia River ESU (Threatened), Sockeye (Oncorhynchus nerka) - All Populations, Steelhead (Oncorhynchus mykiss) - All PopulationsCutthroat Trout, Coastal (Oncorhynchus clarkii clarkii) - All Anadromous Populations

G185Produce CBFish Status ReportPeriodic Status Reports for BPAThe Contractor shall report on the status of milestones and deliverables in Pisces. Reports shall be completed either monthly or quarterly as determined by the BPA COTR. Additionally, when indicating a deliverable milestone as COMPLETE, the contractor shall provide metrics and the final location (latitude and longitude) prior to submitting the report to the BPA COTR.
H132Produce Progress (Annual) ReportContribute to Annual Plume Project Report for 9/1/11--9/30/12* Annual Report will be covered by main NOAA FY11 contract (#46273 REL 27) for project and will be attached in Pisces at project level by Kym Jacobson. Reporting period covers 9/1/11--9/30/12. The project NOAA Report is due Sept. 30, 2012.
