| A | 165 | Produce Environmental Compliance Documentation | Ensure BPA EC lead has permits | Environmental Compliance coverage is through NOAA contract (46273 REL 27). Permits have been obtained for this work. | | |
| B | 119 | Manage and Administer Projects | Contract Administration | Manage and Administer contract including Pisces tasks and collaboration with the rest of the plume project. | | |
| C | 157 | Collect/Generate/Validate Field and Lab Data | Collect Calibrated Hydroacoustic Data and Seabird Data | We will use fisheries echosounders to map distributions of pelagic fishes and macrozooplankton in the Columbia River Plume and adjacent coastal areas of Oregon and Washington. Counts of seabird densities will be collected simultaneously during the same surveys.
We will collect calibrated hydroacoustic data during May and June cruises, which coincide with peak outmigration of juvenile salmon from the Columbia River. We shall participate on the same cruise vessel as NOAA Fisheries Project 46273 REL 27. Acoustic data will be used to map the horizontal and vertical distribution of pelagic fish and macrozooplankton in the water column and to compare spatial and temporal relative abundances and length-frequency distributions between the two surveys. | Chinook (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) - All Populations, Chum (Oncorhynchus keta) - Columbia River ESU (Threatened), Coho (O. kisutch) - Unspecified Population, Coho (Oncorhynchus kisutch) - Lower Columbia River ESU (Threatened), Sockeye (Oncorhynchus nerka) - All Populations, Steelhead (Oncorhynchus mykiss) - All Populations | Cutthroat Trout, Coastal (Oncorhynchus clarkii clarkii) - All Anadromous Populations |
| D | 162 | Analyze/Interpret Data | Process and Analyze Hydroacoustic Data and Seabird Data | Data processing and analysis will take place in the office after each cruise is completed.
Data collected at sea will be error-checked, archived as digital files in an electronic database, and processed to provide relative indices of the distribution and abundance of non-salmonid prey (acoustics) and avian predators (seabirds).
Processed data will then be compared among transects and cruises to examine the overlap between juvenile salmon, avian predators, and non-salmonid prey. | Chinook (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) - All Populations, Chum (Oncorhynchus keta) - Columbia River ESU (Threatened), Coho (O. kisutch) - Unspecified Population, Coho (Oncorhynchus kisutch) - Lower Columbia River ESU (Threatened), Sockeye (Oncorhynchus nerka) - All Populations, Steelhead (Oncorhynchus mykiss) - All Populations | Cutthroat Trout, Coastal (Oncorhynchus clarkii clarkii) - All Anadromous Populations |
| E | 161 | Disseminate Raw/Summary Data and Results | Share information at Pacific Seabird Conference | Information, including raw data and analysis, will be shared with other experts at the Annual Pacific Seabird Conference in 2012 in Honolulu, HI. | Chinook (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) - All Populations, Chum (Oncorhynchus keta) - Columbia River ESU (Threatened), Coho (O. kisutch) - Unspecified Population, Coho (Oncorhynchus kisutch) - Lower Columbia River ESU (Threatened), Sockeye (Oncorhynchus nerka) - All Populations, Steelhead (Oncorhynchus mykiss) - All Populations | Cutthroat Trout, Coastal (Oncorhynchus clarkii clarkii) - All Anadromous Populations |
| F | 141 | Produce Other Reports | Produce joint project synthesis report | Coordinate with other projects and BPA/Council/ISRP to produce a synthesis report by the end of the calendar year. | | |
| G | 185 | Produce CBFish Status Report | Periodic Status Reports for BPA | The Contractor shall report on the status of milestones and deliverables in Pisces. Reports shall be completed either monthly or quarterly as determined by the BPA COTR. Additionally, when indicating a deliverable milestone as COMPLETE, the contractor shall provide metrics and the final location (latitude and longitude) prior to submitting the report to the BPA COTR. | | |
| H | 132 | Produce Progress (Annual) Report | Contribute to Annual Plume Project Report for 9/1/11--9/30/12 | * Annual Report will be covered by main NOAA FY11 contract (#46273 REL 27) for project and will be attached in Pisces at project level by Kym Jacobson. Reporting period covers 9/1/11--9/30/12. The project NOAA Report is due Sept. 30, 2012. | | |
