D194368157Collect/Generate/Validate Field and Lab DataMonitor physical and biological effects of oxygenationFrom 2008 to 2017, Colville Tribes Fish and Wildlife Department has worked with a team of scientists from Washington State University (WSU) to measure the effects of oxygenation on North Twin Lake using South Twin Lake as a reference. In 2018, the hypolimnetic oxygenation system will be shutdown because no evidence was found describing benefits to the fisheries after nine years of operation. However, physical and biological monitoring needs to continue in order to evaluate any potential negative impacts that may result from ending hypolimnetic oxygenation operations. Biological and nutrient data will be gathered throughout the open-water season to coincide with the existing data set.$5589.31%04/01/201803/31/2019
E194369162Analyze/Interpret DataAnalyze and interpret dataBiological and physical parameters will be compared to historical data and between lakes to decipher the effects of hypolimnetic oxygenation operations ending. Parameters to be analyzed consist of: dissolved oxygen levels, water quality variables, zooplankton abundance, and trout condition and growth (data obtained from a different project). Overall, the primary goal of the analysis is to determine if ending hypolimnetic oxygenation operation in North Twin Lake has negatively impacted the fisheries.$00.00%04/01/201803/30/2019
