B33Decommission Road/Relocate RoadWhite-White II Road DecommissioningExcessive road density was defined as one of the major contributors to degraded habitat condition in Lolo Creek for both aquatic and terrestrial species (Upper Lolo Creek Ecosystem Assessment at the Watershed Scale and Clearwater Subbasin Assessment). Road densities in the Lolo Creek watershed are 4.8 miles per square mile, and the target road density is 1.0 mile per square mile. The Clearwater National Forest (CNF) and the Nez Perce Tribe (NPT) have worked together since 1996 to decommission roads on National Forest lands under a watershed restoration partnership. In 2004 NPT and CNF personnel began surveying and prioritizing roads in the White-White Creek basin. Initial road decommissioning began in the White-White area in 2004, continued in 2008, and this work element will continue to decommission roads that have been previously identified and prioritized in this basin.Chinook (O. tshawytscha) - Snake River Fall ESU (Threatened), Steelhead (O. mykiss) - Snake River DPS (Threatened)Chinook (O. tshawytscha) - Snake River Spring/Summer (not listed), Cutthroat Trout, Westslope (O. c. lewisi), Lamprey, Pacific (Entosphenus tridentata), Trout, Rainbow (Oncorhynchus mykiss)
