E122Provide Technical Review and RecommendationIdentify Best Management Practices Through Coordination and Sharing of New Technologies and Models that Improve Data ManagementManaging the data life cycle is a rapidly evolving discipline with continuous advances in computer hardware, software and business practices. It is therefore important for the ITMD Project to stay coordinated with its data stewards and with the regional co-managers to identify new technologies and processes that can improve data collection, reporting, storage, and cost-efficiency. A primary goal of the ITMD Project is to coordinate and work with tribal data management staff to investigate technologies, tools, and frameworks that will support sustainable long term data management. Optimization of tribal data management systems will improve organization, access, and shareability of data within the tribes, as well as access and sharing with regional co-managers, when appropriate.
F160Create/Manage/Maintain DatabaseImplement Best Management Practices That Improve Tribal Data ManagementContinue updating and developing tools, applications, and databases to build capacity within member tribes and CRITFC to better manage monitoring data from field data collection to computer entry, to display of results (from stream to screen). Continue efforts to establish and improve centralized data management systems at the tribes and CRITFC. Updating and developing successful tools, applications, and centralized systems for fish and fish habitat data improves the speed, accuracy, and ease of data entry, aggregation, and reporting within the tribal programs and for data sharing with co-managers.
