The Eagle captive broodstock will be maintained through maturation. Environmental compliance permits will have approval before implementation.Sockeye (O. nerka) - Snake River ESU (Endangered)
G176Produce Hatchery FishIncubate and rear BY19 Sockeye production and captive broodstockFish culture activities associated with maintaining a Sockeye Salmon captive broodstock at Eagle Fish Hatchery (Eagle FH). Fish culture for brood year 2019 will include; egg care during incubation, care of sac-fry, swim-up fry and feeding fry. Environmental compliance permits will have approval before implementation.Sockeye (O. nerka) - Snake River ESU (Endangered)
H176Produce Hatchery FishSpawn Sockeye Salmon, incubate eggs, and distribute BY19 eyed eggs to rearing facilities.Spawn anadromous and captive reared sockeye to meet Brood Year 2019 production goals. Incubate developing sockeye eggs and prepare for distribution to Springfield FH, NOAA Fisheries, Eagle captive broodstock program.Sockeye (O. nerka) - Snake River ESU (Endangered)
I174Produce PlanSalmon River Annual Operating PlanAssist with the production of the 2019 Salmon River Annual Operation Plan (Salmon River AOP). The Salmon River AOP is a comprehensive plan that addresses all salmon and trout production in the Salmon River drainage. Finalization of this report is dependant on staff outside of this contract.Sockeye (O. nerka) - Snake River ESU (Endangered)
J66Trap/Collect/Hold/Transport Fish - HatcheryTrap, transport, hold and release anadromous Sockeye salmonTrap returning anadromous Sockeye Salmon at Redfish Lake Creek and Sawtooth FH. Transport anadromous Sockeye to Eagle FH. After genetic information has been analyzed, Sockeye determined to be released will be transported to Redfish and/or Pettit lakes in September. Sockeye required to meet egg production goals will be held and incorporated into the spawning matrix at Eagle FH. After August 7, Sockeye Salmon trapped at Redfish Lake Creek may be direct released above the weir at Redfish Lake Creek. Sockeye Salmon trapped at Sawtooth FH may be released upstream or transferred to Eagle FH. *Emergency trap and haul may be implemented at other project facilities (i.e., Lower Granite, Ice Harbor trap facilities, etc.,) when environmental and fish passage conditions are determined harmful for Sockeye passage. IDFG will work with NOAA, COE, BPA and other state and Tribal agencies when implementing emergency tap and haul procedures.Sockeye (O. nerka) - Snake River ESU (Endangered)
K70Install Fish Monitoring EquipmentInstall/maintain adult trap/weir on Redfish Lake CreekAdult Sockeye Salmon weir/trap is installed to collect and monitor anadromous adults returning to Redfish Lake. Environmental compliance permits will have approval before implementation.Sockeye (O. nerka) - Snake River ESU (Endangered)
L158Mark/Tag AnimalsPIT tag, genetic sample (PBT identification), and adipose clip captive broodstock and anadromous returning adults (no adipose clipping). All marking required for broodstock identification and PBT tracking.Sockeye (O. nerka) - Snake River ESU (Endangered)
M157Collect/Generate/Validate Field and Lab DataSRSS anadromous adult trapping and data collectionCollection of data evaluating Sockeye Salmon production in the Sawtooth Valley. Collected data will include biological data collection and genetic tissue samples associated with anadromous returning adults to the Sawtooth Valley. This is a shared activity with Sockeye M&E (CR-332527 WE F). Environmental compliance permit will have approval before implementation.Sockeye (O. nerka) - Snake River ESU (Endangered)Trout, Bull (S. confluentus) (Threatened)
N157Collect/Generate/Validate Field and Lab DataGenerate and validate genotypes of juveniles sampled during smolt out-migration.Generate and validate data to evaluate Sockeye Salmon emigration from the Sawtooth Valley. Generated data will evaluate spawner contribution in Redfish Lake based on PBT analysis. Samples collected under Sockeye M&E contract (CR-332527 WE G).Sockeye (O. nerka) - Snake River ESU (Endangered)Trout, Bull (S. confluentus) (Threatened)
O157Collect/Generate/Validate Field and Lab DataGenerate and validate genotypes from mid-water trawl samplesGenerated and validated genotypes from O. nerka sampled in the mid-water trawl will be used in analyses of O nerka population abundance presented at SBSTOC meetings and summarized data will be included in annual permit reports (see Reporting WE A). Samples collected under Sockeye M&E contract (CR-332527 WE H).Sockeye (O. nerka) - Snake River ESU (Endangered)
P157Collect/Generate/Validate Field and Lab DataGenerate and validate genotypes from samples collected in Redfish Lake sport fishery creel.Generate genotypes for samples collected from the sport fishery creel. Genotypes are a data source for analyses of impacts of the fishery to O. nerka populations in Sawtooth Valley lakes that are used to make project/program management decisions and is reported in the BPA Annual Report-Research Element and SBSTOC updates. Samples are collected under Sockeye M&E contract (CR-332527 WE E).Sockeye (O. nerka) - Snake River ESU (Endangered)Trout, Bull (S. confluentus) (Threatened)
