J | 97638 | 184 | Install Fish Passage Structure | Remove culverts/passage barriers on Patterson/Big Springs Creek on Hooper Lane | Hooper Lane cuts across the Pahsimeroi Valley approximately 13 miles upstream from the mouth of the Pahsimeroi River. These culverts carry Big Springs Creek, Big Springs, Connector Channel, Little Springs Creek, and Pahsimeroi River flows. Replacing these culverts will improve passage to the upstream ends of these drainages for juvenile Chinook salmon, steelhead, and other native species.
Replacement of the 4 culverts with bridges, originally suggested by Idaho Fish and Game biologists, was ranked by the Upper Salmon Basin Watershed Program Tech Team in December of 2010. The project scored 76, which is a "high" ranking. US Bureau of Reclamation has completed designs for the bridges. The project is being coordinated through the Custer Soil and Water Conservation District (CSWCD), the Custer County Road Department, and the Lemhi County Road Department. Reclamation will provide construction oversight, and CSWCD will act as the contract officer. Construction is planned for July/August of 2011. | $155,710 | 12.20% | 04/08/2011 | 09/30/2011 |
