A | 135077 | 156 | Develop RM&E Methods and Designs | Develop Methods and Technology for Salmonid Life-Cycle Analyses | This effort develops quantitative tools for research, monitoring, and evaluation. Statistical models, software, and study designs are developed for tagging studies to characterize salmonid life history and the effects of mitigation efforts focused on recovery. This project is the only BPA-funded effort devoted exclusively to assuring PIT-tag, radio-tag, acoustic-tag, and balloon-tag studies are designed and analyzed using the latest and most appropriate statistical methods to guarantee study goals are achieved precisely and cost-effectively with the information correctly interpreted. | $137,762 | 59.32% | 12/01/2014 | 11/30/2015 |
B | 135078 | 122 | Provide Technical Review and Recommendation | Provide Statistical Guidance and Technical Reviews to BPA and F&W Community | This task assists Columbia River investigators with the design and analysis of their salmon tagging studies. These efforts include sample size calculations, assistance with statistical software, study design, and guidance on data analysis and interpretation. Other efforts include one-on-one instruction on the use of the software packages developed at UW. The purpose of this task is to help assure all Columbia River studies are designed and analyze with state-of-the-art methods in order to be valid, precise, and cost-effective.
An important component of this task is to apply the technical expertise acquired over the years on this project to assist BPA in their review of tagging studies funded by the Columbia River Basin Fish and Wildlife Program. Because these review efforts and consultations occur throughout the year, the principal investigator and UW donate considerable effort to assure timely responses to BPA's and F&W investigators' requests. | $28,743 | 12.38% | 12/01/2014 | 11/30/2015 |
C | 135079 | 162 | Analyze/Interpret Data | Analysis of Salmonid Life-Cycle Performance Measures as Requested by BPA and F&W Community | This project is the only BPA-funded effort devoted exclusively to assuring PIT-tag, radio-tag, acoustic-tag, and balloon-tag studies are designed and analyzed using the latest and most appropriate statistical methods to guarantee study goals are achieved precisely and cost-effectively. Analysis of actual data enhances the development of realistic statistical models for tag-recapture data, thereby providing a feedback loop to Work Element A. This effort will respond to the BPA and NPCC for independent analyses of tagging data and review of study designs as part of the peer-review process and the need for information to manage the hydrosystem. A variety of real-time and historical data sources may be processed using standard tag-analysis software or using methods hand-crafted for specific needs. | $32,430 | 13.96% | 12/01/2014 | 11/30/2015 |
D | 135080 | 119 | Manage and Administer Projects | Project Management | Management of personnel, financial reporting, budget planning, property inventory, and development of statements of work. | $23,224 | 10.00% | 12/01/2014 | 11/30/2015 |
E | 135081 | 132 | Produce Progress (Annual) Report | Submit Progress Report for the period (Jan2014 to Dec 2014) | The progress report summarizes the project goal, objectives, hypotheses, completed and uncompleted deliverables, problems encountered, lessons learned, and long-term planning. Examples of long-term planning include future improvements, new directions, or level of effort for contract implementation, including any ramping up or ramping down of contract components or of the project as a whole. For an ongoing project, a progress report covering a contract period may be submitted under the subsequent contract, if approved by the COTR.
Progress reports must conform to BPA guidelines. See the "formatting guidelines" link at the Technical Reports and Publications page: https://www.cbfish.org/Help.mvc/GuidanceDocuments.
If producing a technical report for this contract, a discrete experiment, or a peer-reviewed publication, use work element 183: Produce Journal Article. | $5,098 | 2.20% | 01/01/2015 | 05/15/2015 |
F | 135076 | 185 | Produce CBFish Status Report | Periodic Status Reports for BPA | The Contractor shall report on the status of milestones and deliverables in Pisces. Reports shall be completed either monthly or quarterly as determined by the BPA COTR. Additionally, when indicating a deliverable milestone as COMPLETE, the contractor shall provide metrics and the final location (latitude and longitude) prior to submitting the report to the BPA COTR. | $2,762 | 1.19% | 04/01/2015 | 11/30/2015 |
G | 139321 | 165 | Produce Environmental Compliance Documentation | Environmental compliance review | This project involves no data gathering in the field, and has no direct impacts on fish and wildlife | $10 | 0.00% | 12/01/2014 | 11/30/2015 |
H | 140137 | 202 | Produce BiOp RPA Report | BiOp RPA Report for CY 2014 | Projects that have claimed that they support one or more RM&E RPAs (i.e., RPAs 50-73) under the FCRPS BiOp are required to report their results. To facilitate the summary of these results across the entire Columbia River Basin, and to provide more clarity as to the format required under the BiOp, these reports are required to be completed online. If desired, the required information can be prepared in MS Word, and pasted into Taurus. For more guidance see https://www.cbfish.org/Content/tutorials/Reporting_Guidance_BiOp_2013.pdf. | $2,215 | 0.95% | 12/01/2014 | 09/30/2015 |
