B212157158Mark/Tag AnimalsPIT tag and scute mark hatchery White SturgeonHatchery juvenile sturgeon must be individually marked prior to release to allow project participants to evaluate and manage the conservation aquaculture program. Results from the evaluation of hatchery releases will provide information that can be used to direct the conservation aquaculture program. Some decisions that will likely be influenced will include stocking rates, release locations, and fish size at release. By marking the juveniles with individually numbered PIT tags we can calculate abundance estimates using a variety of estimators, calculate survival estimates, track the success of family groups, evaluate release locations, monitor dispersal patterns, and monitor growth. The scute marks provide an permanent external identifier that the fish was of hatchery origin, as well as its broodyear (age) and release year, in case of PIT tag loss or failure.$7,5001.51%04/01/202103/31/2022
