A185Produce CBFish Status ReportPeriodic Status Reports for BPAThe Contractor shall report on the status of milestones and deliverables in Pisces. Reports shall be completed either monthly or quarterly as determined by the BPA COTR. Additionally, when indicating a deliverable milestone as COMPLETE, the contractor shall provide metrics and the final location (latitude and longitude) prior to submitting the report to the BPA COTR.
B119Manage and Administer ProjectsManage and administer Lake Roosevelt White Sturgeon Recovery ProjectManage on the ground white sturgeon recovery work for the Spokane Tribe of Indians. Administer subcontracts with Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, Colville Confederated Tribes, and other subcontractors to ensure project work elements and milestones are completed. Prepare financial estimates and invoices as requested by Bonneville Power Administration. Prepare statement of work, equipment inventories, and budgets for fiscal year 2017 Lake Roosevelt White Sturgeon Recovery Project work.
C165Produce Environmental Compliance DocumentationComplete BPA Environmental ComplianceWork with BPA environmental staff to assure project complies with all necessary NEPA and other environmental issues.
D158Mark/Tag AnimalsPIT tag and scute mark hatchery white sturgeonHatchery juvenile sturgeon must be individually marked prior to release to allow project participants to evaluate and manage the conservation aquaculture program. Results from the evaluation of hatchery releases will provide information that can be used to direct the conservation aquaculture program. Some decisions that will likely be influenced will include stocking rates, release locations, and fish size at release. By marking the juveniles with individually numbered PIT tags we can calculate abundance estimates using a variety of estimators, calculate survival estimates, track the success of family groups, evaluate release locations, monitor dispersal patterns, and monitor growth. The scute marks provide an permanent external identifier that the fish was of hatchery origin, as well as its broodyear (age) and release year, in case of PIT tag loss or failure.Sturgeon, White (Acipenser transmontanus) - All Populations except Kootenai R. DPS
E176Produce Hatchery FishRear & release BY2018 hatchery fish into Lake Roosevelt/upper Columbia RiverCapture 2018 brood year white sturgeon larvae from the upper Columbia River. Transfer larval white sturgeon to Sherman Creek hatchery. Rear sturgeon at Sherman Creek Hatchery for release in March-May 2019 (dependent upon growth).Sturgeon, White (Acipenser transmontanus) - All Populations except Kootenai R. DPS
F157Collect/Generate/Validate Field and Lab DataConduct white sturgeon sub-yearling monitoring, data entry, and data quality controlAssess sub-yearling (juvenile) white sturgeon abundance in Lake Roosevelt/upper Columbia River using gill nets. Includes collection of morphological, growth, age, and behavioral data on wild and hatchery juvenile white sturgeon. Assess sturgeon early life history fate/survival and ecology in the upper Columbia River via D-ring net sampling conducted for wild larvae collected for interim conservation hatchery efforts. Complete sample processing for sturgeon age samples.Sturgeon, White (Acipenser transmontanus) - All Populations except Kootenai R. DPS
G162Analyze/Interpret DataAnalysis of Lake Roosevelt White Sturgeon Recovery Project Sub-Yearling DataComplete data analysis from white sturgeon monitoring to produce standard indices and statistics that will allow for inference on the population status, fish condition (growth), reproduction, larval behavior, hatchery juvenile survival, substrate mapping and invertebrate forage availability for white sturgeon larval life stages.Sturgeon, White (A. transmontanus) - Lower Columbia River
H157Collect/Generate/Validate Field and Lab DataConduct adult white sturgeon adult monitoring, data entry, and data quality controlAssess adult white sturgeon abundance in Lake Roosevelt and the upper Columbia River (Transboundary Reach) using set lines. The adult assessment surveys will be completed cooperatively with BC Hydro and the CCT to increase sampling effort, and sample sizes, which will improve precision of capture-recapture abundance and survival estimates, as well as indices of growth and condition to facilitate inferential statistical analysis. Stock assessment study design, analysis, and implementation will be led by the STOI Lake Roosevelt Sturgeon Recovery Project (1995-027-00) in Washington and B.C. Hydro in British Columbia. Surveys will include collection of morphological, growth, age, and behavioral data on wild and hatchery white sturgeon. Complete sample processing for sturgeon age samples (will be combined with juvenile white sturgeon age samples).Sturgeon, White (Acipenser transmontanus) - All Populations except Kootenai R. DPS
I162Analyze/Interpret DataAnalysis of Lake Roosevelt White Sturgeon Recovery Project Adult Sturgeon DataComplete data analysis from white sturgeon monitoring to produce standard indices and statistics that will allow for inference on the population status, fish condition (growth), reproduction, larval behavior, hatchery juvenile survival, substrate mapping and invertebrate forage availability for white sturgeon larval life stages.Sturgeon, White (Acipenser transmontanus) - All Populations except Kootenai R. DPS
J157Collect/Generate/Validate Field and Lab DataConduct white sturgeon telemetry monitoring, data entry, and data quality controlTelemetry sampling using fixed station receivers in Lake Roosevelt to determine white sturgeon use and movement throughout the reservoir.Sturgeon, White (Acipenser transmontanus) - All Populations except Kootenai R. DPS
K162Analyze/Interpret DataAnalysis of Lake Roosevelt White Sturgeon Recovery Project Telemetry dataComplete telemetry monitoring data analysis to produce standard indices and statistics that will allow for inference on adult and hatchery juvenile white sturgeon movements.Sturgeon, White (Acipenser transmontanus) - All Populations except Kootenai R. DPS
L162Analyze/Interpret DataAnalysis of Lake Roosevelt White Sturgeon Recovery Project Report Benthic macro-invertebratesComplete data analysis from invertebrate forage availability for white sturgeon larval life stages. There is no Collect/Generate/Validate Field and Lab Data component because data was previously collected.Sturgeon, White (Acipenser transmontanus) - All Populations except Kootenai R. DPS
M99Outreach and EducationLake Roosevelt White Sturgeon Recovery Project Public OutreachFacilitate the development of a U.S. community outreach program that includes tribes, regulatory agencies, public representation and others interested in sturgeon recovery. This group would provide local and traditional knowledge, advice on potential social and economic impacts of proposed recovery measures, and communicate issues and findings to their respective constituencies. This will include participation in outreach activities and participation in the international Upper Columbia White Sturgeon Recovery Initiative's public awareness program.
N161Disseminate Raw/Summary Data and ResultsProvide summary data to project participants and the Upper Columbia White Sturgeon InitiativeProject participants and Canadian researchers working in tandem to assess white sturgeon populations in the transboundary reach of Lake Roosevelt and the Upper Columbia River will disseminate raw/summary data on white sturgeon populations and potential limiting factors as needed to fully assess the transboundary reach.Sturgeon, White (Acipenser transmontanus) - All Populations except Kootenai R. DPS
O174Produce PlanProduce Upper Columbia White Sturgeon PlanDevelop a white sturgeon conservation aquaculture production plan for the Roosevelt Reach of the upper Columbia River.Sturgeon, White (Acipenser transmontanus) - All Populations except Kootenai R. DPS
P132Produce Progress (Annual) ReportSubmit 2017 (Annual) Progress Report for the period (April 2017) to (March 2018)The progress report summarizes the project goal, objectives, hypotheses, completed and uncompleted deliverables, problems encountered, lessons learned, and long-term planning. Examples of long-term planning include future improvements, new directions, or level of effort for contract implementation, including any ramping up or ramping down of contract components or of the project as a whole. Date range April 2017 to March 2018 (e.g. Apr 2001 to Mar 2002) will be agreed upon by the COTR and the contractor. This may or may not coincide with the contract period.
